When Things Don’t Fit

I bought a new couch today…it is fabulous! I actually got an L shape sectional with dark brown leather and cream microfiber. It was time. I love it. However, the boys that delivered it sure had a difficult time getting it through one of my doorways. It just wouldn’t fit. We finally had to take apart the doorway and it was just able to make it through. If I ever sell this house, the couch may have to go with it. But then again….I love the couch, so I’ll make it fit! It will just require a little remodeling on my part.

The whole experience got me to thinking about the times that things just don’t fit in our lives. We make adjustments of whatever nature and try to make things work. When it comes to dieting, we probably began because things just didn’t fit any longer. It may have been our clothing. It may have been our body in a small airline seat. Perhaps the turning point came when we were at an amusement park and the safety bar couldn’t close on the ride we waited in line for, for at least 45 minutes. Something didn’t fit and we made the decision to change.

The same goes for our diet plan. Sometimes the plan we are following that worked so well in the past no longer fits for whatever reason. It is time to make a change. It is ok to do that. We need to do what is best for us. Look around and make an evaluation. If it no longer fits, then do something about it. It has to begin with you.
