Wedding Workout

My little sister got married yesterday.  I was worried at first at how my diet would fare with a wedding and all of the celebration food around.  But she also had her reception an hour later in the same place she was married and everything had to be set up differently after the wedding.  I burned a lot of calories setting up tables, decorations and laying out the food and drink.

The wedding punch I made was a hit and I spent a lot of time traipsing across the hall to refill the punch bowl.  She of course wanted the punch bowl placed at one of the furthest points from the kitchen.  I burned a few days worth of calories hauling lime punch slush from point A to point B.  Then there was the actual making of the slush…it was a great upper-body workout as I broke up the frozen punch base.  We also had a bowl of ice water with fresh limes for those who didn’t want the punch.  It was a great alternative and I wish I had taken time to drink more of it myself.  However, I was too busy hauling water and punch for the thirsty party-goers.

All in all, I did pretty well since I only had time to actually eat one small slice of wedding cake.  It was a great workout, although I don’t think I want to repeat it anytime soon.  I’ll just take a walk around the neighborhood or pop in a fitness video.  It would be less stressful and I wouldn’t still be tired the next day…
