Exercise! — Exercise is an easy way to burn calories, build muscles and burn fat. Three of the best exercises that you can engage in for health are walking, running and yoga. These are all simple exercises as they take no equipment and you can begin with little or no previous experience.

Cut Out the Soda! — If you think that drinking soda is a healthy prospect, stop and read the label. Drinking soft drinks and commercial fruit juices fills your body with unnecessary sugars, which are turned into fats within your bodies. Instead, you should focus on hydrating yourself with fresh, filtered water!

Portion Control! — Portion control is a very important part of being healthy and losing weight. Meals are not meant to be as large as we make them, or as large as fast food empires dictate. You should re-educate yourself on what a true portion actually is, and how much food is needed to fuel your body.

Never Skip a Meal! — This is another essential part of healthful nutrition. The best way to keep your body healthy is to spread small amounts of healthy food throughout the day. Six small meals will always be healthier for you than eating three large ones, and skipping breakfast or lunch does much more harm than good!

Opt for Wholesome, Fresh Food! — Most of the products that we are urged to buy are not even really food with how much they have been processed prior to packaging. Wholesome foods like whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh fish are not processed, and therefore are much healthier for you. Greens, Soy, Salmon, Whole Grains and Berries are all delicious wholesome foods worth trying.

Do Not Over-Restrict! — You need to be able to treat yourself, because rewarding yourself is a great way to motivate yourself. All you have to do is enjoy your rewards using smaller portions than before, and make smarter choices by substituting the less healthful treats with healthier substitutions.

Understand Food Labels! — The purpose of food labels is to educate consumers about the contents of a particular food. This is especially useful for people with food allergies, but is also extremely useful for people who are dieting. Learn how to read package labels, so you will always be educated about what you are putting into your body.

Keep a Food Journal! — This offers you a great visual format to keep track of what you are eating, how much you are eating and where your weaknesses are when it comes to eating. Keeping a good journal will make it possible to log all of your eating information down, so you can refer to it later for insight.
