LA Weightloss—Expensive, But it Works

LA Weight Loss is a program that is centered on visits to their weight loss centers. The clients visit the center for their free assessment, a weigh in and then a program is provided for them.  The program is personalized to each client by the answers they give during their assessment and the amount of weight that they are deemed to need to lose.

The plan that is chosen lists what is considered to be an appropriate portion of Proteins, Fruits, Veggies, Starches, Dairy and Fat.  The plan also lists the use of their soy based protein bars which are called LA Lites.  The bars are good, but they are expensive and are considered to be a central part of the program.

The client is asked to visit the center three different times each week to meet one on one with a counselor.  The counselor goes over the food log that the client brings in and offers tips and suggestions to improve diet performance.  They also offer to sell the client supplements and snack foods.

There have been many complaints lodged against LA Weight loss for their sales techniques and practices.  The dieter is often pressured to spend thousands of dollars on the program, La Lites and other supplements. This is paid upfront and in advance. There is also a strong push to have lost weight at each visit. This can play on the self esteem of the dieter in either a positive or negative manner.

In short, while the program is expensive, the plan does work.  If you have money to burn or are very disciplined and not easily pushed into things, then you may enjoy the motivation that is provided at the centers.  It is possible to do the program without the bars and supplements, but you will need to have a firm NO handy and be prepared to use it repeatedly.

I have used the program and I know it works, but I also know it is expensive.  If you have used this program, what has been you experience?  I’d like to hear it.
